Colour photograph of a white caravan from outside the wooden orchard gates, framed by trees, with a red brick tiled cottage behind it. If you look very carefully, you can see a Westie immediately behind the gate.

Shadow Self-Portraits

DIGITAL PRINTS ON FILM, MOUNTED ON WINDOWS TO ACT AS NATURAL LIGHT BOXES

As with the hand prints, I wanted to find a way of marking my passage through the landscape without leaving a trace behind me.
I also wanted to reflect my practice around self-portraiture.
These shadows fall on the different environments within Holton Lee: reed beds; woodland; heather; grass; meadow; and sand.
Stick figures are first found in prehistoric art, and also form the basis for a number of writing and signage systems. In my case, the shape was augmented through my use of a walking stick.
