STORMSTAYED

There's a storm coming up
But I'll sail anyway
I've waited an awful long time for this day.
I just can't stay away from storms.

A cold wind is rising
But the sky's looking fine
I just can't believe it'll gust a Force Nine.
I just can't stay away from storms.

I'm flying, I'm flying
Oh what a surprise
The water is rising right over my eyes.
I just can't stay away from storms.

I'm drowning, I'm drowning
Oh come rescue me
Before I go down to the bed of the sea.
I just can't stay away from storms.

Wait, the bed seems quite comfy
And been freshly made
Should I just strip off my buoyancy aid?
I just can't stay away from storms.

But instinct takes over
I fight for my life
I wish I'd remembered my Swiss Army knife.
I just can't stay away from storms.

I rise to the surface
And into the snow
The storm is on top me, the bed lost below.
I just can't stay away from storms.

I remember that bed
And hope it will keep
Every night when the storm stops me going to sleep.
I just can't stay away from storms.
