ABNORMAL

Please do not touch the artwork

We live in an era where British artists are facing unprecedented restraints. These include widespread cuts to funding, particularly to Disability Arts and other organizations who work with diverse parts of the community, but also to galleries and other exhibition spaces where high quality artwork is being made available free of charge.

Artists are also regarded as being far less important and worthy of respect than scientists. As a society, we fail to engage enough with scientists, believing that we are incapable of understanding and critiquing their work, but we commonly disparage and criticize artists.

All of this adds up to indirect censorship, in addition to the direct censorship that artists can face too.
