Pill Box Brooches
Disa Allsopp

There are three pill box brooches featured on the website. All are made of oxidised silver, meaning that their appearance is blackened rather than shiny silver. It is clear from the lines of the boxes, which are slightly wavy, that they have been made by hand rather than by machine.

The first box is shaped as a tall thin rectangle, and has a gold figure standing on the edge of the lid, suggestive of an old tin model soldier.

The second box is also rectangular, but is wide rather than tall. It also has a gold figure standing at the edge of the lid.

The third box is the smallest. It is also rectangular, but its longest sides protrude outwards rather than lying across the body. There is no figure on its lid, but the edge of the lid is painted with gold.
