Silver Inhaler Holders
Nicola Becci

Child's Inhaler Holder

Nicola’s inhaler holder is designed to be used by children.
Nicola felt it was important to design something that was fun.
Pop and Whoosh sound like cartoon noises
but are similar to the sound an inhaler actually makes.

Thin silver had been used to construct the holder
so that it isn’t too heavy when attached to clothes.
The holder can be clipped to a belt or waist band.

Inhaler Holder for Women

Breathing is the theme of this roll-printed silver inhaler.
The lettering on it is the dictionary definition
of the word breathe.

The inhaler is worn with a chain around the neck.
This transforms it into a piece of jewellery,
but also allows for easy access.

As a piece of jewellery there is a decorative element:
the chain is detachable allowing it to be worn on its own
and the holder put into a pocket or bag.

The leaf shapes on the chain are echoed
in the larger leaf shapes attached to the bottom of the holder.
The inhaler is then transformed
from a simple piece of medical equipment
into a bold piece of jewellery that empowers the wearer.

Nicola’s work is an exploration of decoration
using many different sources of inspiration.
She works mainly in silver, with brass and gold for detail.
Nicola graduated in Design from Glasgow School of Art.
