Cutlery for Temporarily Disabled People
William Welch

Special cutlery is sometimes required
when an accident or temporary illness
affects the physical movement of a hand or arm.

An example of this could be a sprained or broken wrist,
where the gripping of thin or small objects is uncomfortable.
In this situation, a temporary solution is required
which is both economical and functional.

How to make your own easy-gripping cutlery:

List of materials/objects required:

  1. A packet of balloons
  2. A packet of flour or ground salt
  3. A functional utensil like a knife, fork, spoon, toothbrush
  4. A small packet of elastic bands
  5. A funnel

Instructions:

  1. Place funnel in neck opening of balloon and fill with flour or salt.
  2. Push handle of utensil into the filled balloon.
  3. Hold neck entrance of balloon and shake out excess filling back into packet.
  4. Still holding the balloon, place an elastic band over the utensil and wind around the balloon to secure a seal.
  5. Wash any excess flour or salt from the handle.
  6. The cutlery for temporary impairments is now ready for use.
